Common questions
How do your beanies fit?
Most are one size with natural stretch and fit heads about 54–60 cm around. Each product page lists the measured width, height and cuff depth, and whether the beanie sits above the ear or covers it. More in the size guide.
Which beanie is warmest?
The Chunky Hand-Knit Beanie, then the High Cuff Merino Beanie, which covers the ears fully. For everyday wear, the Merino Fisherman Beanie is the one we'd start with.
What's the difference between merino and regular wool?
Merino fibers are finer, so they feel soft rather than scratchy, and they handle the move from cold outside to a warm room well. Pieces that are 100% merino say so; blends list every fiber. Read the fiber guide.
I can't wear wool. What should I get?
The Organic Cotton Rib Beanie and the Vintage Cotton Fisherman Beanie are wool-free, as are our cotton caps.
How do I wash my knitwear?
Wool and merino: hand wash cold with a wool wash, press the water out in a towel and dry flat. Cotton beanies can go in the machine on a gentle cycle. Full care guide.
How much is shipping?
Free on US orders over $70, and a flat $8 under that. Orders ship within 1–3 business days.
What is your return policy?
Unworn pieces with tags can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Email support@simmsknitting.com with your order number to start a return.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship within the United States for now.
